Russell D. Albert

Russ has practiced labour relations and employment law in Alberta since 1979. Russ began his career in private practice before joining the Alberta Labour Relations Board and the Alberta Human Rights Commission as Senior Legal Counsel. Among his advocacy activities are several significant human rights cases, including appearances before the Supreme Court of Canada.

Russ received his law degree and his Bachelor of Commerce degree (with distinction) from the University of Alberta in 1978 and 1974, respectively.

Russ has chaired the Labour Law section of the Canadian Bar Association (Northern Alberta). He was also Head of the Administrative Advocacy Bar Admission Course for the Legal Education Society of Alberta.

Russ is recognized by Lexpert as a "repeatedly recommended" practitioner in both labour relations and employment law and has recently been selected for inclusion in "The Best Lawyers of Canada".
